The upcoming retro handheld Evercade has just announced its 11th cart and it is an exciting one featuring Atari Lynx games! The Atari Lynx originally released in 1989 just a couple of months after the Nintendo Game Boy. In contrast to Game Boy, Lynx had a full color screen instead of a monochrome one and the later redesign would even have a back light. While the system would see fairly decent sales in its early life it didn’t win out to the crazy might of the original Game Boy. These days the Lynx is pretty much relegated to a collectors item. While not the most expensive collectors item out there some games are shooting up into absurd territory. With the new Atari Lynx cartridge for Evercade, 17 Lynx title will soon be available on a single cartridge for the new system.

There are some interesting games included in this first Lynx compilation cartridge like Dracula and Power Factor. I am also kinda fond of the Lynx version of Asteroids and Missile Command. The Atari Lynx Collection 1 Cartridge is slated to release sometime in Q3 2020. And as for the Evercade itself, it is on track for an April 9, 2020 release and will have a base price of $79.99 (affiliate link) and come with the Atari Collection 1 Cartridge. A $99 dollar bundle (affiliate link) is also available that includes the aforementioned Atari Collection 1 alongside a Data East and Interplay cartridge. In other Evercade news, it was recently announced that the system will be able to support arcade titles. This really opens up the possibilities for future game cartridges to include some fantastic classics!
