How does End of Abyss’ gameplay work?

End of Abyss is a 3D twin-stick sci-fi horror game. From a top-down perspective, players will explore an abandoned Metroidvania-designed facility and come across a variety of ever-changing, scarier-by-the-minute mutants. Survival is key, as you will have to craft gear from the materials found across a world you’ll grow accustomed to thanks to the backtracking. You’ll definitely want to scan each room in case those baddies are just waiting for you in the dark, to log any important data, and to find any valuable pickups.

Combat-wise, expect twin-stick shooting glory (moving with the left stick, aiming with the right stick). You are armed with a variety of guns, starting with an energy pistol and a shotgun that surely packs a punch and will be required for the toughest foes in the game. You will also make use of other gear such as flares and grenades to gain the upper hand during encounters, which will often see you dodging like there’s no tomorrow.

What is the plot and setting of End of Abyss?

In End of Abyss, players will take control of Cel, a combat technician tasked with investigating “disturbances” in a mysterious underground compound located in an abandoned world. While more details surrounding the game’s story are yet to be revealed, everyone can expect a horrifying and tense world inspired by the likes of Alien and The Thing.
