Everything You Need to Know About Rayman Legends Retold

The next entry for Ubisoft's Rayman isn't entirely new, but it certainly looks like it. His last full game from 13 years ago is being reimagined with a new visual style and other additions the original release didn't have. This is everything you need to know about Rayman Legends Retold.

When is the release date for Rayman Legends Retold?

Rayman Legends Retold is expected to release on December 3, 2026. It was originally set to launch on October 1, but the team delayed it to work on it a bit longer.

What platforms will Rayman Legends Retold be on?

Rayman Legends Retold will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

How much does Rayman Legends Retold cost?

The price depends on which edition you're buying. The standard edition costs $39.99 and includes both the base game and the remastered/updated Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.

The deluxe edition meanwhile costs $49.99, and adds a four-costume Retro pack and an in-game Art Gallery. Pre-ordering either one will get you the Hoodlum Havoc Pack which provides a costume for Rayman and Globox.

What's gameplay like in Rayman Legends Retold?

Gameplay remains similar to the original game. You and up to three others can play as Rayman and his friends across various 2D platforming levels. Each set of levels belongs to a different themed realm.

Each of these realms, along with their different gimmicks, kept the original game from feeling stale and should do the same here. Fun chase levels and the beloved music levels also help keep things fresh.

What's different in Rayman Legends Retold?

The most obvious difference in Rayman Legends Retold is the change to stylized 3D visuals. It functionally plays the same, but the new style is a big enough departure that it looks entirely different. Another big change is the adoption of a new story that's supported with voice acting and cinematics.

That's not to say everything else is the same. More levels have been added, including a new sixth realm and 3D dragon-riding moments that act as transitions between the realms. Additional ongoing challenges can be completed in the Cave of Trials, while anybody looking for a more competitive multiplayer vibe can check out the revised Kung Foot mode.

That covers everything you need to know for the reimagining of Rayman's 2013 adventure. For those interested in how the Rayman games stack up, check out our list of the best Rayman games to play before Rayman Legends Retold.
