How does Rev. NOiR gameplay work?
Rev. NOiR is an action RPG game featuring real-time hack-and-slash combat. The game’s second trailer shows more gameplay elements, although these remain to be fully explained.
Based on the footage, players control a main character who has assist companions that provide buffs for the main character and also directly attack enemies. It is unclear if players can control other characters or if these are swappable.
Upon defeating powerful enemy bosses, players will absorb Kardieos Implants, which act as permanent upgrades. Aside from regular attacks such as Strike, Slash, and Backaway Shots, players can also activate abilities that act as combat buffs, such as increasing critical rate for four seconds. Other moves include counters and chain attacks, as well as other powerful finishers.
What is the plot and setting of Rev. NOiR?
The world of Rev. NOiR is guided by a heavenly civilization called the Determinants. These hand humanity astral ordinances that are intended to preserve peace. This peace is disrupted b y the Lightfall, a deadly catastrophe in the form of rain that kills everything it touches.
The game’s protagonist is the boy Asch, who encounters a young cleric named Finé and her guard, Diana, in a remote village. Asch’s astral ordinance is to “save many people,” and as such, he joined Finé and Diana in a quest to defeat the provitons, which are suspected of being the Lightfall’s source. They will also meet Kross, a gunner, along the way.
