After many rumors, leaks, and an endless stream of wishful thinking, the remake of one of the greatest games of all time (perhaps the greatest) is finally a reality. Here is everything to know about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake will release on November 5, 2026.

What platforms will The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake be released on?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

What price is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake launching at?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is available for pre-order at $59.99 for its digital edition. The physical edition costs $69.99.

How does The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake’s gameplay work?

As shown in The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, Ocarina of Time Remake plays much like the original, albeit with modern graphics.

New additions include the ability to jump, swim underwater, dash, sing, hum, whistle, or even use an instrument to perform Ocarina tunes to the console’s mic, and further Zelda Notes/mobile integration, such as using rupees to access Ocarina of Time quizzes. Other mechanics include the day and night cycle now progressing everywhere and voice acting during cutscenes.

Players can expect lots of sword fighting, arrow shooting, puzzle solving, ocarina playing, a huge Hyrule to explore, a bunch of Golden Skulltulas, Heart Pieces, and Poes to collect, and, of course, a premium selection of dungeons to face, all of them filled to the brim with enemies that go from almost adorable to nightmare-inducing monstrosities.

What is the plot and setting of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake?

By the looks of it, the Remake will follow the plot of the original Ocarina of Time. You play as Link, a fairy-less Kokiri boy who turns out to be a Hylian, who also turns out to be the bearer of the Triforce of Courage, who eventually becomes the stuff of legend as the Hero of Time.

Waking up from a nightmare, Link soon finds himself on destiny’s path, as he is tasked with finding Princess Zelda and inquiring about an evil man, a Gerudo named Ganondorf, who is trying to get his hands on the Triforce.

He eventually does so as Link gets access to the Master Sword, splitting the sacred artifact into three and turning Hyrule into a borderline post-apocalyptic nightmare. Link, now seven years into the future, will have to defeat him by every means necessary.
