Looking to release their spiritual successor title of Let It Die, developers SUPERTRICK GAMES and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment are preparing to release DEATHVERSE: LET IT DIE later this month. While this melee-focused combat game follows the rules of Battle Royale - specifically, the last man standing aspect - it is set up a bit differently.
Players are placed in an arena to fight each other purely for the entertainment sport of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian-formed TV show called ‘Death Jamboree.’ In it, contestants face off in a 16-player game of PvPvE combat. This means that while you do need to look out and defeat other players, you’ll need to watch out for some other threats as well. These threats include Cryptids, which are various creatures that can be anywhere in the arena and all have their own hostile-to-docile personalities, and the relentless Hunters. Hunters are pretty much undefeatable killers that will drop in the match at any given moment and target the first contestant they lay eyes on. If you are their unlucky victim, your options are to run until the Hunter is removed by the show host or lead the Hunter to another contestant to get the focus off of yourself.
There will be plenty of customization options that range from your waiting room to your character and weapons. You can even decide on your load-up, dying, and dazed (or stunned) animations, along with a list of emote options of course.
DEATHVERSE: LET IT DIE will be free-to-play and it is set to release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 28th with a PC via Steam release to follow on October 5th.
With this initial launch, we will have only Hunter Q to worry about, but within the following weeks, they plan to add Hunter M and Hunter G as well. Within Season 1, players can choose from Exhibition and Ranked matches, or set up a private room, and a weapon list to include Machete, Katana, Hammer, Arms, and Buzzsaw which will soon be followed by Twin Knives. After release, they will begin working on future updates such as HDR Support, Crossplay between PC and PS, Recording Features, Replay Features, and eventually, Season 2!
