The massive web3 competitive trading card game Gods Unchained has just announced that they are teaming up with GameStop to bring a brand-new level of content. Developed by Immutable, this free-to-play strategy game combines the fantasy wonder of card games like Hearthstone and Magic The Gathering into one giant package.

This new partnership with GameStop is directly linked to GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards Pro membership which is its own separate membership from Gods Unchained. With this clashing of giants, Gods Unchained is aiming to give players true ownership of their in-game items and strike that perfect balance between a tangible item and a digital collectible.

This new content will be delivered in a number of ways. Firstly, GameStop PowerUp Pros will get a unique code that they can redeem for expansion packs in Gods Uncahined. Within these packs will be a set of collectible NFT trading cards that can be used to construct competitive decks in multiplayer. Additionally, these NFT trading cards will be able to be traded, sold, and used in any way the player chooses which is a pretty big deal. We see a lot of restrictions when it comes to games utilizing NFTs so it’s great to see some player agency and freedom with these digital items.

Gods Unchained has really been leading the charge in the crypto-game pseudo genre of gaming right now, especially in Australia so we really are pretty pumped to see where this could take games like these moving forward. The redemption codes will be sent to GameStop PowerUp Member’s inboxes on the 27th of September and only members who are members as of the 27th of September will be eligible so make sure you sign up quickly if you want to take part in this.
