In a recent podcast episode on the official Xbox channel on YouTube, has an interview with Craig Duncan, the head of Xbox Game Studios. In the podcast he talks about recent releases like Avowed and South of Midnight. However, when the topic switches to Fable he opens with how the game was originally supposed to come out in 2025 but has now been moved to 2026.
You can skip to 14:32 in the video to see the announcement, and their optimism that the delay is for the best. Avowed and South of Midnight are definitely some promising new releases and many fans are equally annoyed at the delay but also happy that the game will get extra time to be better.
Fable is one of Microsoft’s oldest and dearest IP’s second only to Halo. So it is understandable that Microsoft feels this will need more time in the oven.
