Developer Chicken Launcher’s eco-themed farming sim No Place Like Home has officially left Steam Early Access and made the transition to a finished release. The game, published by former tabletop-exclusive publisher Awaken Realms, has been in Early Access since 2020, and it received frequent updates and optimistic feedback from players during this period.
No Place Like Home sets players on an Earth ravaged by pollution, to the point that the planet has been all but abandoned in favor of a comparatively untouched Mars. A few hardy souls have opted to stay behind on the near-ruined Earth and build some kind of life from the rubbish-strewn wasteland. One of these souls is No Place Like Home’s protagonist, the aptly named Ellen Newland.
To succeed in carving out the post-apocalypse homestead of their dreams in No Place Like Home, players are faced with clearing mountains of trash, rescuing animals, and reviving the community whilst investigating the mystery of Ellen’s missing grandfather. Where other titles might have players setting out to plunder whatever natural resources they can get their hands on, No Place Like Home encourages recycling the surrounding detritus and incentivizes changing the environment for the better.
And, most important of all, players can host chicken raves! No Place Like Home is available now for PC via Steam.
