Racing games are a little niche, but they have garnered a strong fanbase that rivals the audience for first-person shooters and role-playing games. Recently the racing genre has stepped away from the nostalgic arcade style in favor of more simulation-based gameplay which has been the trend for the sports game genre. There’s still a section of gamers that prefer the arcade feel for racing games of old and NASCAR, GameMill Entertainment, and Team6 Game Studios have decided to harken back to the retro racing feel with NASCAR Arcade Rush.
The game allows for intense and cartoony races on classic NASCAR racetracks like Talladega Speedway and Daytona International Speedway, fit with gravity-defying jumps, nitro boosts, twisting roads, and many more arcade secrets. The cars and the driver can be customized and used in either the career NASCAR Cup series or the online multiplayer. The cars available span 75 years of racing history, which means the arcade style isn’t the only nostalgic callback, both the cars too!
NASCAR Arcade Rush will be released on September 15th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders will include base game content but also exclusive Project-X content like customization options and a hovercraft car.
