FIRE EMBLEM ENGAGE Expansion Pass Revealed

Nintendo showed up to the Game Awards with a few surprises, including the news that Fire Emblem Engage will be getting an Expansion Pass. The latest installment in the long-running tactics/RPG franchise from Intelligent Systems launches on January 20th, 2023, but this expansion pass will add more content throughout the year.

The first wave, which launches alongside the game, adds two new Emblem characters along with support items and accessories. The first Emblem character is actually three characters in one: Claude, Dmitri, and Edelgard from Fire Emblem Three Houses. Each of them led one of the titular houses in the last mainline Fire Emblem game, and they’ve gone on to become fan favorites.

The second new Emblem character is Tiki, who has a long and storied history in the Fire Emblem series, first appearing in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light (1990). She’s since gone on to appear in multiple other entries, becoming an iconic figure in the series.

The Expansion Pass will also include three additional waves of content dropping throughout 2023. No info is given about what content we can expect from these waves, but it’s safe to assume that they’ll include more Emblem characters and side content. Fire Emblem Three Houses also received a sizable narrative expansion as well, so it is possible one of these waves will include some story content.

Fire Emblem Engage launches on January 20th, 2023 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
