FORTNITE Mobile Only Took 3 Days To Make Its First Million

Fortnite Battle Royale for iOS devices launched only last week, and the game was able to rake in $1 million via in-app purchases three days after its release. 

The data was provided by Sensor Tower, which reported earnings of around $1.5 million worldwide as of now. What makes this more impressive is that the release is limited to players who pre-registered for the invite-only preview of the game on iOS devices. 

Furthermore, Sensor Tower reported that the earnings were from cosmetic in-app purchases alone. Given these numbers, Fortnite Mobile was able to earn a third of Pokémon Go’s revenue in its first four days on iOS, which made Niantic a total of $4.9 million, so Fortnite’s income is not that bad compared to Pokémon Go’s. 

Also, the mobile game topped the iOS charts in at least 47 countries, 24 hours after launch. It also made the top 10 in 58 countries. Currently, the game is only available to players who pre-registered in the preview on iOS, but an Android version of the mobile game will follow eventually. 

Given that PUBG’s mobile game was just released yesterday, we’ll see how that will fare in the coming days. Unlike Fortnite Mobile, PUBG’s mobile game is already available on both iOS and Android devices. However, Fortnite Mobile supports cross-play with PC and PS4 players, which is not currently available in PUBG’s mobile version.
