The Pirate themed Fortnite Season 8 has begun. The new season brings with it another evolution to the map which now includes volcanoes, pirate cannons and hidden treasures. There are also numerous pirate themed skins players can work to unlock. But, the biggest surprise, and maybe most welcomed, is the inclusion of an Apex Legends style ping system. That’s right, you can now ping things in Fortnite!
The pinging mechanic has been a huge factor in Apex Legends, Fortnite’s biggest competition to date. It only makes sense to see Epic Games try to keep their game on top by implementing such a feature that has been applauded in another game. It is also commendable for Epic to implement the feature so quickly as Apex Legends only launched earlier this month! A lot of games have been made or broken based on how well features can be implemented and once again, Fortnite wants to show it will remain king of BR.
