During the latest Nintendo Direct, Sabotage Studio unveiled the official release date for their turn-based RPG title Sea of Stars. Many have been looking for this game’s launch this year as it is even listed in ‘most anticipated games of 2023’ lists, but now we know it will be on August 29th. To top off the news, this golden age of 90s role-playing classics-inspired title has released a free demo on the Nintendo Switch for a hands-on experience that is available now!
The demo's dense slice of early-game content showcases the game’s main systems and mechanics, introducing key characters and the adventure's tone in a spoiler-free, close-to-final vision look at the game featuring pirates, puzzles, and exploration. To prepare those interested in trying out the game, they released a new gameplay video during the Direct. The footage spotlights Sabotage Studio’s comprehensive revitalization of the genre’s classic strengths, offering a modernized, distinctive take on classic RPG exploration, combat, and storytelling.
Players will follow the story of two Children of the Solstice, joining players with youths Valere and Zale as they face their fated duty of becoming Solstice Warriors. By joining their Sun and Moon powers to cast powerful Eclipse Magic, this duo wields the lone power capable of fighting the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
Sea of Stars will be available on August 29th for PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The new free demo is only available on the Nintendo Switch.
