Frostpunk: The Board Game, designed by Adam Kwapiński (known for Nemesis and Lords of Hellas) and several others, is a tabletop adaptation of the post-apocalyptic video game where survival comes at a cost.
Up to four players will assume the leadership of a colony suffering the environmental, physical, and mental hardships of another ice age. The gameplay will revolve around careful management of resources, as well as the morale of the citizens and the growth of the colony.
Like the video game, the core gameplay of Frostpunk: The Board Game promises to be brutal. While easy to learn, it’s going to be a challenging game that will force players to make difficult decisions.
And now the gameplay has been debuted on Quackalope’s YouTube channel with the designers giving commentary on the Tabletop Simulator preview.
The players will decide the fate of their people, who respond to the state of the game and will demand things of the players. It’s a euro-style game that has been enriched with a compelling narrative that drives action and reaction.
Frostpunk is a bestselling video game from 11bit studios, and the upcoming board game looks to be just as interesting.
