GameSir is a gaming peripheral brand that's been making quality products for a while now, and they’ve recently released their newest entry, the G7 SE Wired Controller. The G7 SE is the new updated version of the original G7 version, this new version comes in white and boasts Hall Effect Sticks to improve performance. If you’re like me and haven’t heard of Hall Effect sticks before, it’s essentially using magnet science thingamajigs to ensure that the controller doesn’t have joystick drift!
What's In The Box
When it comes to the box there’s no extra pazzazz that pops up in some of the more high-end gaming products but Game Sir more than makes up for it with the controller’s quality. As for what you get, it comes with the controller a nicely long wire USB connector, an instruction manual, and of course the classic brand loyalty sticker.
Aesthetics and Build Quality
The aesthetics and build quality are where the G7 SE shines, its sleek white design is simply incredible. In addition to that the controller handles like a dream, with no sticky buttons, and the Hall effect sensors on the triggers and sticks make them very responsive. I do have to say that the left trigger was a bit squeaky for a bit before I broke it in, but it did go away. If you’re not a fan of the white design, the controller’s top cover is removable so you can customize its design with a different one. All in all, the controller is a great experience.
Specs and Special Features
The G7 SE comes with a free month of Xbox game pass, which gives players plenty of games to test it out on. I recommend Hi-Fi Rush. Players can also download the GameSir Nexus software to customize their controller. With the software, they can fine-tune their controller settings, personalize button mapping, and create unique profiles tailored to their preferences. In addition, you can expect the following specs:

Gameplay And Functionality
The G7 SE is a joy to use in any controller-friendly game, the buttons and triggers are responsive and most importantly feel nice to push. The controller is also comfortable to hold and use, the only issue I had in my time with the controller was the fact that the left stick can get in the way of hitting the option and Xbox buttons with how its positioned; which isn’t a huge deal, but in games where option is the inventory key that require a lot of inventory management it could get slightly annoying. Despite that, it is still a great controller.
What It Could Have Done Better
There’s honestly not much that the G7 SE could improve on. Maybe some attention to improving how pushing down the sticks and keeping them down could be a bit easier and the left stick or option button could move to be pressed easier, but that’s about it.
Verdict
The G7 SE is a marvelous controller with some frankly amazing features and a beautiful design. The very minor flaws I found barely had any impact on my enjoyment of the controller. The hall effect sticks and triggers also should prove to be a wise investment in the controller’s life span. The cherry on top is the complimentary free month of game pass the controller comes with. All in all, I definitely recommend the G7 SE to anyone interested in getting a new controller.
