Christmas comes to Gears 5 in the annual limited time holiday event, Gearsmas! This year’s iteration brings back fan favorite horde mode,”Jingle Juvies”, as well as new earnable character and weapon skins. One of which being the Krampus Scion*. This Anti-Santa skin can be acquired by getting 200 kills in the brand new Free For All mode. The Krampus skin is based on the Warden, but The Coalition have assigned it to the Scion character to ensure that everyone can access the skin immediately after unlock.
It’s not Christmas without some ugly sweaters! The return of “Jingle Juvies” is paired with the arrival of the new Ugly Gearsmas Skin set. The entire 18 weapon skin set can be earned by completing 100 waves of the limited time Horde mode.
Gearsmas themed items can be found in the store for the duration of the holiday event. Introducing the “Nutcracker Shepherd” skin, as well as the “Gift Wrapped Loadout” weapon skin set. Each respectively are 500 iron each, roughly translating to about five dollars. Iron can be earned through the Tour of Duty during each operation, or can be purchased through the in game store.
On top of the earnable and purchasable content, four Gearsmas themed items can be acquired just by logging into Gears 5 any time during the limited time event. Logging in on December 25th and 26th will also grant you two days of free boost. Gearsmas 2019 will run from December 17th to January 2nd, so there is plenty of time for you to get all of the Christmas goodies during this holiday season. Get in there and start gibbing!
