GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK Gets A November Release Date

God of War Ragnarok is one of the most hotly anticipated titles still to come this year, and PlayStation has officially given the upcoming sequel a firm release date: November 9th, 2022. The announcement also came alongside a new, CGI-trailer titled Father And Son that sees series lead Kratos and his son Atreus fighting off the forces of both Muspelheim and Niflheim before facing the world-eating wolf, Fenrir.

As if that wasn’t enough, developer Sony Santa Monica also dropped an unboxing video for Ragnarok’s Collector’s Edition and Jotun Edition. The video, helmed by Art Director Rafael Grassetti and Thor motion capture and voice actor Ryan Hurst, shows off the various physical goodies players can expect to find inside the boxes, including a steel book case, carved figurines, and a model replica of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.

The news of Ragnarök’s release date comes shortly after fan pressure to learn the release date turned toxic. Sony Santa Monica issued a statement condemning such behavior, stating that “passion should not be toxic nor come at the expense of any human being’s dignity.” This sentiment was echoed by many others in the gaming industry, including other development studios, actors, and media personalities.

God of War Ragnarök will release on November 9th, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
