Nintendo took to social media today to unveil their latest, special edition model Switch. This time, Splatoon 3 is getting the royal treatment with a fancy, new piece of hardware that’s decked out in all the fashionable trappings one might expect from a Splatoon-themed Switch.
Both the back of the Switch and the system’s dock are covered in graffiti ripped straight from the cartoonish shooter. This includes images of the Squidling’s squid forms as well as their Octoling counterparts. There’s also a yellow paint splotch prominently featured on the front of the dock itself.
The Joy-Con have a unique, two-tone color scheme that perfectly accentuates the game’s aesthetic. The left Joy-Con boasts a purple style and features several images connected with the Octolings from Splatoon 2, while the left sports various shades of bright green and pictures associated with the Squidling protagonists with whom fans are most familiar.
Alongside the console, Nintendo also revealed a special edition Pro Controller and a carrying case that both mirror the color scheme and design of the system. Both are adorned in graffiti and include numerous pairings of purple and green throughout their build.
The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Splatoon 3 Edition will be available on August 26th, 2022, along with the Pro Controller and carrying case. Splatoon 3 will be available on September 9th, 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
