It hasn’t been long since we found out that Golf With Your Friends by Team17 and Blacklight Interactive was coming to console and leaving early access, but now we have an official release date. This 12-player multiplayer title will be on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and leave Steam’s Early Access on May 19th! They have also opened up pre-orders for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, but PlayStation 4 will get the pre-order by purchasing the special “launch edition” that will be available for two weeks after release.
The pre-order, or launch edition, will give players The Caddy Pack DLC. This DLC includes:
Triceratops hat
Goose floaty
‘Beanie’ propeller hat
Rowboat floaty
Teacup hat
Australian ‘slouch’ hat (outback-style hat)
No matter which edition of the game you get, with or without the pre-order bonus items, all players will have access to everything the game offers. Such as 10 unique courses, including one based on Team17’s iconic series Worms, multiple game modes consisting of standard golf, powered up golf, hockey style, and basketball style, and plenty of ways to personalize your set up using unlockable trails, skins, and hats.
Since this game went into Steam’s Early Access back in 2016, this is hands down one of the longest-running games to be in beta that actually saw a successful launch. It’s good to see the developers never gave up on it and continued to work on it while letting players face off against friends for years before it was ready.
