Tim Hodges of Sony Interactive Entertainment has informed us on the PlayStation Blog that the latest Gran Turismo Sport Update 1.06 has so much more coming our way than before. To start with, Solo player mode is back if you were looking forward to offline play. Many of my PlayStation buddies had complained to me that the lack of solo mode was what frustrated them the most. Hopefully this will turn the tables.
Don't get overly excited if you think you won't need internet access. To save your progress you will still need access. Gameplay has been balanced though with some adjustments to the game settings, so this may improve your racing experience.
Next up are the sexy new cars. There are three free cars becoming available on November 27 when the patch is installed. You can look at these screenshots below to see which ones.
With these new free cars comes the new Livery Editor, Scapes and Campaign Modes. Not much detail was given as to what these modes will include, but I think the titles explain themselves. And if you thought these updates arriving next week weren't enough, we've got some hot news for December 2017.
There is a GT League coming. This will form part of the first free update released in December which will be a new single player experience. It will be similar to old GT modes from previous Gran Turismo games where you can partake in cup competitions from Amateur leagues to professional. And to top the cherry on this cake, more leagues will added in 2018!
Here are some screenshots provided by Hodges for the GT League:
And to further wet your appetite, here are the cars planned for release in December:
- Mazda — RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD)
- Nissan — Skyline GT-R V・spec II (R32)
- Nissan — Skyline GT-R V・spec II Nür (R34)
- Ford — F-150 SVT Raptor
- Lamborghini — Countach LP400
- Ferrari — F40
- Ferrari — Enzo Ferrari
- KTM — X-BOW R
- Suzuki — Swift Sport
- Volkswagen — Samba Bus Type 2 (T1)
- Chris Holstrom Concepts — 1967 Chevy Nova
- Chevrolet — Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3)
Gran Turismo will be Sporting 50 new cars between now and March 2018, which is huge. Now for the most important decision of my gaming career: to choose between Gran Turismo Sport and Star Wars Battlefront 2 for Christmas. Who wants to help me decide?
