Developer Black Mermaid and publisher Humble Games’ dark fantasy action-adventure Moonscars has hit the shelves, promising blood, battle, and a sinister-looking celestial body.
The player takes the role of Grey Irma, a strange and unsettling-looking construct. She is a clayborne warrior, a golem made of clay, bones and ichor. She is searching for her creator and trying to discover for what purpose she was sculpted. This is no easy task.
To unravel the mysteries of her creation, Grey Irma will have to travel across a dark and barren world bathed in bold moonlight, facing all kinds of enemies and hazards. Death is almost inevitable but brings with it the benefit of hindsight that might help make the next attempt successful.
Moonscars features a non-linear world and 2D Metroidvania-style of progression. Some areas that seem unreachable may open up with the correct tools to approach them. Combat is carried out with both weapons and witchcraft, both will be needed as the enemies are relentless and the bosses are enormous.
Moonscars is available now for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Windows Store. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play as part of their subscription.
