The first HD-2D Final Fantasy game is not to be taken lightly. Final Fantasy Resonance is a fun and, at times, emotional game, even if you’re not well acquainted with the Square Enix franchise. Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran, you’re most likely wondering how much time it will take to complete Final Fantasy Resonance. We’ve got you covered.
How long does it take to beat Final Fantasy Resonance?
If you choose to stick with the main questline, Final Fantasy Resonance will take you, at the bare minimum, 30 hours. That, of course, depends on your selected difficulty and turn-based JRPG know-how. According to Square Enix itself, Resonance’s story might take you up to 40 hours to complete.
That being said, there’s lots of optional content players may choose to tackle. These include optional dungeons, side quests, boss battles, Espers, conquering the Colosseum, picking up every Tablet Shard reward, and unlocking, leveling, and ranking up each of the 26 different Visions that will assist you during your travels. If you choose to take the completionist route, the play time doubles, requiring 60 to 70 hours to turn every little stone in the game.
Secret unveiling, Vision level-up, and tough fights will take you the longest. Final Fantasy Resonance won’t have you scratching your head, as it is very friendly and the puzzles are very spread out. Most of the time, the game will tell you exactly what to look for and where to find it. So, expect the challenge to come from exploration, resource gathering, and level grinding.
Final Fantasy Resonance is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
