How to defeat The Last Judge boss in Silksong

Before we analyze The Last Judge’s moveset, here are some general tips on tools, items, and crests we recommend you try out while fighting this boss:

  • Curveclaw: This is an incredible tool that acts as a boomerang, so it deals extra damage on its way back. You can purchase this tool from a secret shop in Hunter’s March.

  • Pollip Pouch: Adding venom to your tools helps deal extra damage to The Last Judge. You can get the Pollip Pouch by completing the Rite of the Pollip Wish for Greyroot in Shellwood.

  • Flea Brew: Drinking this item makes Hornet attack and run faster for a short time. Flea Brew is your reward for completing the Lost Fleas Wish for the Flea Caravan.

  • Reaper/Beast Crest: If other crests aren’t working for you, try out the Reaper or Beast Crest. These give Hornet different attack styles. The Reaper Crest is in Greymoor, and the Beast Crest is in Hunter’s March.

Now, let’s look at The Last Judge’s attack patterns and moves that you need to master to stay alive till the very end of this fight. During the first phase, this boss has pretty simple attacks that don’t require much effort to learn. Take advantage of your sprint ability, as you can get close enough to attack The Last Judge before running away when she starts swinging her flail.

To avoid her throwing the flail and then pulling it back, you can either run out of its vicinity (this is a good time to heal if needed) or you can stay close, then jump over it when she pulls it back to avoid getting it. Don’t get cornered by her, make sure you’re dodging underneath her when she leaps up to keep her in the middle of the arena.

Once she lights her bell flail on fire, that’s when you have to lock in. Don’t even think about getting in attacks when she spins it in a circle, just avoid getting hit by the rings of fire. Once the flames are gone, run up to her and attack once before anticipating her next move.

When she takes a step back, prepare to jump and avoid the flames as she runs across the room. The Last Judge will also slam the ground, indicating the ground will catch fire. Just take a leap and glide for a moment to avoid the flames. You can easily get a hit in here as well.

When she throws the flail, it won’t be too different besides being set ablaze. Leap over it before she pulls it toward herself. You’ll know she’s low on health when she makes a loud shout and then summons the fire rings. Be careful, as they won’t go away right away. Stay away from them until you’re sure they’re completely gone.

The Last Judge will explode after she dies, so as soon as you notice you’ve killed her, run out of the way before the explosion occurs. You don’t want to die as soon as you kill her, because you’ll have to do the fight all over again. Oof.
