It’s true that Well Dweller freely throws currency at you like nobody’s business. You get it from defeating enemies in addition to the game’s myriad containers. Even so, even a 100% playthrough won’t give you all the dosh you need to afford all of the trait slots. This means that the answer is, of course, farming currency. But what’s a good location for such a thing, you may ask?
First of all, it’s important to note how Well Dweller’s enemy spawns work. After killing an enemy, you’ll notice that leaving the room and returning won’t cause them to respawn. This is because the game uses a spawn system more akin to a Souls-like. Getting the enemies to respawn will therefore require you to return to a save point. So, here’s the best spot you can farm.

Luckily for us, we can freely warp to any tent we’ve found. You might think that you’d have to wait until much later in the game to find a worthwhile place you can use to farm, but one of the best spots isn’t deep in at all. Simply fast travel to the tent in the Midnight Drench as indicated on the map below. The farming spot is close enough that it won’t take long to get there at all.
Once you’re at the tent, walk to the right until you reach the location marked below with a star. When you get there, you’ll notice 9 of the white clump enemies stuck to walls. By default, killing all of them will net you 100 bits of currency, which is nothing to sneeze at considering that that’s comparable to the reward for winning a combat trial without taking a hit.
However, just 100 isn’t enough, is it? Before doing this, you should equip the trinket that increases how much currency enemies drop (and there are actually two of these, one of which increases the amount when low on life). For instance, with a fully upgraded currency increase trinket, killing all nine of them will net you 207 currency. Fighting enemies on the way will push that higher.
What you’ll want to do, though, is start at the tent, make a beeline for this spot, kill them all, and then immediately warp back to the tent. Then you’ll just rinse and repeat as many times as you want. All-in-all, a single run just takes about 30 seconds, so you can rack up thousands of units of currency in just minutes flat. Using this method, it doesn’t take long at all to save up enough to buy all of the trinket slots.
That’s really all you need to do to farm currency quickly and efficiently in Well Dweller. If you want a bit of variety, you can just check any screens close to other tents to find one that works too, although spots with that level of enemy density aren’t exactly common.
