One of the first challenges you’ll receive on your PC in Pokémon Pokopia is to gather Lumber. While at this point you’ve picked up Sturdy Sticks, and maybe even some Small Logs, Lumber is an entirely different thing.
It’s easier to collect than you think, and you can meet a Pokémon that knows how to get this resource for you. Let’s learn how you can find and collect Lumber in Pokémon Pokopia.
Where to find Lumber in Pokémon Pokopia
There are two ways you can get Lumber in Pokémon Pokopia: Either you find it naturally on the ground or you have a Pokémon cut Small Logs for you.
First off, you’ll occasionally find Lumber just sitting on the ground. It looks like a couple of wood plants lying flat on the ground. Pick these up, and you’ll have yourself some Lumber!
But that’s not the most sustainable way to get Lumber. Once Scyther joins your world, he will be able to cut Small Logs into Lumber for you. Start by creating the perfect habitat for Scyther, which is a tree and four tall grass tiles surrounding it.
Either wait patiently or time travel, and Scyther will show up. Scyther will request that you give him a Small Log, and in return, he’ll turn it into Lumber.
He will also teach you the Cut move, which can break the large wooden logs that can block your path. Cutting one stack of large beams will get you four to five Small Logs.
Once you have Small Logs and you’ve finished his request, talk to Scyther and say “Look at this!” and then give him some logs. You will then be able to choose the new dialogue option “Make me some lumber.” Select how many pieces you want, and then wait a while for him to chop them up for you. Return later to get your Lumber!
Later, you’ll find additional Pokémon who can cut Lumber for you, so keep an eye out for any of these friends who have the Chop ability.
Now that you know how to collect Lumber, you should also learn how long it takes to complete Pokémon Pokopia.
