You'll spend most of your time in Donkey Kong Bananza amassing Banandium Gems to add to the titular ape's ever-increasing collection. And while it may be fun to round up these fruits, rest assured that there's more to them than just being a collectible. As a matter of fact, for every five Banandium Gems you find, you'll earn a skill point that can be used to upgrade DK's health, Bananza abilities, and more.
If you're collecting every Banandium Gem in each layer as you go, you're likely to feel pretty comfortable with the rate at which you can upgrade your skills. And by the time you reach the end of the game, you'll have enough skill points to upgrade every skill in the game. However, if you're feeling a little iffy on some of your choices in the meantime, you can always reset your skill points.
If you're looking to respec your skill points in Donkey Kong Bananza, here's how to make it happen.
How to respec skill points in Donkey Kong Bananza
You won't be able to respec your skill points from within the skill menu. Instead, you'll have to visit one of the elders you meet along your journey. These guys provide you with new Bananza abilities when you first meet them, but you can return later to request a full refund of all of your skill points.
You can find the elders on the following layers:
Kong Elder - Lagoon Layer
Zebra Elder - Freezer Layer
Ostrich Elder - Forest Layer
Elephant Elder - Tempest Layer
Snake Elder - Radiance Layer
Speak to whichever elder you visit by interacting with the microphone in front of them, then select "Reset skills!" from the options. This will refund all skill points you've earned up to this point in the game, letting you apply them to any skills you'd like.
As a side note, any Apple Juice or Melon Juice in your inventory will be turned into gold since their respective capacity upgrades will be reset in the process.
