Pokémon Presents July 2025 – Full Summary

The Pokémon Company shared updates on several anticipated projects during today’s Direct. While no earth-shattering reveals were made, fans were given solid updates to tide them over until upcoming releases. Here's everything announced:

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Let’s start with the biggest news: Pokémon Legends: Z-A, set for release this October. This title continues the experimental approach introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus (2021), pushing further beyond the traditional Pokémon formula.

In a major franchise shift, Z-A will feature pseudo-real-time combat, replacing classic turn-based battles with a more dynamic, action-driven system. Today’s presentation highlighted this gameplay, giving fans a deeper look at how battles will feel in this next evolution of the series.

Character reveals also took the stage, but the headline moment was the announcement of the game’s first brand-new Mega Evolution: Mega Dragonite, marking the return—and expansion—of Mega Evolutions in Z-A.

Pokémon Champions

Pokémon Champions remains a mystery in many ways but continues to intrigue both casual fans and competitive players. This new title appears to be a battle simulator focused on accessibility, designed to help players of all skill levels enter the world of competitive Pokémon battling.

Longtime players will appreciate that Champions reduces the grind of training and breeding by simplifying team-building processes. At the same time, veterans can import their EV/IV-trained Pokémon from previous games, ensuring they won’t have to start from scratch.

Crucially, Pokémon Champions will launch not just on Switch, but also on iOS and Android, giving players unprecedented access to competitive battling on mobile devices.

Pokémon GO – New Event

Even in the big 2025, Pokémon GO remains strong. The game’s next big event Dark Skies and GO Fest 2025: Max Finale will introduce the legendary Eternatus into Pokémon GO for the first time. Expect exclusive raids and capture opportunities tied to this event.

Other Announcements

  • A new Pokémon theme park is coming to Japan.

  • Additional Pokémon are being added to Pokémon Sleep.

  • A new puzzle game called Pokémon Friends is headed to both Switch and mobile platforms.

  • A unique animation project titled Pokémon Concierge, a stop-motion, slice-of-life series, is coming soon to Netflix—offering a fresh, artistic spin on the Pokémon universe.

Overall, while the Direct leaned toward updates rather than surprises, Pokémon fans have a lot to look forward to as the franchise explores new gameplay styles, competitive accessibility, and creative media projects.
