It has officially been announced that the 90s Small Soldiers/Toy Story-inspired multiplayer shooter, Hypercharge: Unboxed is being treated to a brand new single-player campaign. The game was originally launched back in 2020 on PC and Nintendo Switch and it’s also planned to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the game, you play as tons of different toys inspired by classic action figures from the 90s in a third or first-person battle for the ages in maps that’ll make you feel just like a small soldier.
Hypercharge’s community has been very vocal about the inclusion of an actual campaign due in part to the likable character, Sgt. Max Ammo. The devs at Digital Cybercherries have obliged and are implementing a new, free campaign that will roll into the already available PvE mode. This campaign will focus on Sgt. Max Ammo and tell his story of why he defends the HYPER-CORE.
What to expect in this new campaign:
Explore the history and lore of Hypercharge through a ‘90s inspired visual comic.
Learn more about Max Ammo’s past and find out what, or who… is trying to destroy the HYPER-CORE.
Complete ‘90s inspired objectives that focus on platforming and secret hunting. Who knows what you’ll unlock!
Defeat bosses that are out of this world (literally) and be careful not to wander too far outside the garden
There currently is no eta on when this update will arrive on PC and Switch but the devs have stated that they are hard at work to get it finished. If you’re interested in picking up Hypercharge: Unboxed, it’s actually on sale via Steam for 30% off of its $19.99 price, bringing it down to just $13.99.
Hypercharge: Unboxed is available now on PC and Nintendo Switch and is planned to release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the future.
