As part of the 25th Anniversary of One Piece, the manga series following the piratical adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, Bandai Namco has announced they will be releasing an RPG adaptation called One Piece Odyssey. Developed by ILCA Inc under the guiding hand of series creator Eiichiro Oda, this authentic and immersive new entry is to be rooted in canon and contain plenty of the humor and chemistry that the fans of the show love so much.
With Oda being involved and the original Japanese voice actors working on the game, there’s no doubt this new adventure is going to be much anticipated! While there is no release date at the moment, it has been confirmed that it is set to release later in 2022.
Players will embark on this new adventure and discover new enemies, old friends, and the power that comes from being a part of the crew. As they travel across a mysterious new island and embark on quests, players will be able to take the role of nine of their favorite pirates, playing as Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Franky, Sanji, Usopp, Nico Robin, TonyTony Chopper, and Brook. New locales crafted specifically for the game and a new character being showcased means that longtime fans of the show, as well as newcomers, can still enjoy this unique One Piece adventure. Beyond the announcement and trailer, we can only wait to hear more later this year.
