During Thursday’s The Game Awards, Daedalic Entertainment and NACON unveiled their latest teaser trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum! The newly released trailer highlights Sméagol’s mental struggle between his dueling personalities and the trouble that it can land him in. His weaker side gets him into what could end up as a lot of danger until his darker side comes out and changes the situation real quick.
It’s actually pretty cool to see the Gollum we know from the films and books come out in full force here. His personalities really play a major part in the gameplay as well as making choices is essential. I’m personally really interested in seeing just how these choices are really carried out. You have his darker side which is sure to stir up the gameplay and stakes throughout the story.
This game really does have quite a bit to live up to as the Middle-Earth: Shadow games were very good. As this title has a lot of similarities to those in gameplay, such as climbing and sneaking aspects, I’m interested to see how smooth it all is.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum releases in Fall of 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
