Lighting the Way
I remember fondly sinking my ARPG Addict teeth in Torchlight clear back at launch 11 years (!) ago on my aging PC. It was a beautiful mix of light, airy graphics, humor, and fun with a surprisingly deep loot system. It wasn’t the most complex ARPG out there but it was a breath of fresh of air. Now, Torchlight III is launching October 13th on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and soon on Nintendo Switch.
I’ve spent some time with the latest update and boy oh boy are fans in for a treat.. Combat feels good, the skills are gorgeous and plentiful and the world is a blast to explore. Last and certainly not least, the sound is perfect as always with the legendary Matt Uelmen (Of Diablo fame) at the musical helm once again. Stay tuned for more coverage and a full review but for now, you can sink into Early Access on Steam or wait for next week on the console release. ARPG fans rejoice!
