The title says it all, and our dead-beating hearts are filled with as much joy as it is horror. Iconic indie developer, Dread XP, has made a name for itself with their anthology indie horror releases of the Dread X Collection. You can check out their most recent release, Dread X Collection 5, and see that we thought it was a fantastic addition for any horror fan with deep Creepshow inspiration. With the inclusion of the Creepshow license, Dread XP will be able to deliver a horror game unlike any we have seen yet.
Overnight stardom developer, Brian Clarke, from DarkStone Digital (The Mortuary Assistant) will be lending his creative chops to the project as Creative Director. The collaboration between AMC Networks as well as Creepshow’s production company Cartel Entertainment gives gamers even more hype for this epic unity.
DreadXP’s Creepshow video game will retain the iconic franchise’s anthology horror format, consisting of multiple self-contained horror stories that cross gameplay genres and tone. Several independent developers popular in the horror development scene are contributing to Creepshow. A full list of developers working on Creepshow will be announced at a later date. The game is slated for a 2024 release, so this is definitely a recent development.
Creepshow has been a staple in the horror community since its first film in 1982. Shudder has taken the reigns of the TV show with three solid seasons and a fourth season releasing in 2023. It is definitely an exciting time for horror fans.
