Over two years into development by solo developer Emrah Özbay is a Soul Passage. This will be an action-packed Metroidvania that is looking to break some of the rules that go into this genre. One way they are doing this is by leaving the control of the skill tree along with the fate of the main character Obligor to the player.
Players will journey through The Soul Passage, a soul realm, filled with miscellaneous planets housing diverse creatures while carrying countless extraordinary magical items and breathtaking weapons in your stash. Explore the enigmatic nature of the story and relive the adventure with its different endings with new starts. Also, enjoy different possibilities by improving and customizing the gameplay with weapons and outfits that can be found and buy while traveling the whole Soul Universe. Get ready to deal with different physics while navigating different worlds in this interesting blend of RPG and Metroidvania gameplay.
Soul Passage doesn’t have a release date, but the Kickstarter page is planned to start in March 2023. You can follow the campaign now and wishlist the game on PC via Steam. Seeing how this title already won a spot on the Best Upcoming Indie of the Year 2022 list from IndieDB, this title definitely seems to have some potential.
