As a leading developer and publisher of deep, community-driven video games, namely Runescape, Jagex is branching out to work with other indie studios on their titles. The latest title they are working with is This Means Warp by Outlier Games. This game will be a spaceship management rogue-like and it is set to hit Steam Early Access on March 17th.
Designed with multiplayer and replayability at its core, This Means Warp encourages players to cooperate and think tactically in hectic, real-time space battles, and adopt shrewd strategies as they guide their ship through a hostile, procedurally generated universe. Players control crew members on board a ship, manning different systems, targeting weapons and conducting repairs, and ultimately charting a course through the treacherous void of space.
This Means Warp will be the first title from Outlier Games and the third title in Jagex’s new campaign to work with new indie studios. It looks like a game that will maintain a fun and goofy demeanor while also holding players to the stress of successfully managing their ship. What do you think of the latest game to partner with Jagex?
