In about three month’s time, Jurassic World Evolution, a park simulator developed by the team behind Elite: Dangerous and Planet Coaster, will be released for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. One of the stars of the original Jurassic Park trilogy will be present in the game.
Jeff Goldblum, who was famously known for his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park and The Lost World, will be reprising his role in the upcoming park building sim. In a video released by the developers, Goldblum said that:
“I’m going to be with you the whole game, as Dr. Ian Malcolm - that’s the character that I play in those Jurassic Park movies. I highly recommend it. It gets 10 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums - that’s my highest rating.”
Although few details were released on what exactly Goldblum’s involvement will be in the game, it can be assumed that he will be part of the game’s tutorial or as one of the game's advisers. If you remember, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis -a park sim developed by Blue Tounge Entertainment back in 2003- featured characters from the movie including Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler, Dr. Wu, John Hammond, Peter Ludlow, and others, who guided players and served as park advisers. Maybe, Goldblum’s character, Dr. Malcolm will also serve a similar role in Jurassic World Evolution.
Whatever his involvement in the game might be, I’m sure that his sense of humor will add to the game’s overall fun. Furthermore, Goldblum will also be returning to his character in the upcoming blockbuster, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which will serve as a tie-in with the game, and will premiere on June 22.
As for Evolution, the game’s developers promised that the game will stay true to the core of the novel and movie franchises, where things will almost always go wrong. So expect some mayhem when running your park such as dino breakouts and vicious storms.
