Konami has not had the best PR in the past couple years after publicly ousting Hideo Kojima, and jumping into the world of Japanese gambling stations as opposed to actual video games. That said, they did release the pretty awesome Super Bomberman R to the Nintendo Switch and could be in discussions to release a Castlevania game! Here's what we know via European Brand Manager Richard Jones:
"There (are) lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch, other than Bomberman, a game which we are well aware of its heritage and how loved it and Castlevania is. So much so that Castlevania is getting is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series. So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on going."
Now take that with a grain of salt considering nothing happens in Konami unless it comes out of the big office in Japan, but you'd have to imagine the folks in Europe are at least in the know of any talk that has been happening within the company. I can say that I would 100% purchase a new Castlevania title on the Switch, what about you?
