French studio Red Art Games just announced the fast-approaching console release of cosmic-horror-filled metroidvania RPG Skautfold: Usurper.
Originally developed for PC platforms by Pugware, and published by Red Art Games, has been ported to consoles by Red Art.
Usurper is a title in the Skautfold series, the sequel to Shrouded In Sanity. The games take inspiration from the works of HP Lovecraft and conjures up a world engulfed by horror, as monstrous creatures pour into London from the otherworldly Citadel.
Players will need to master brutal action combat and RPG systems, facing unknown terrors on a journey into the centre of the Citadel, for noble reasons or otherwise.
The game is rendered in 2D pixel style, with environments ranging from the familiar trappings of humanity to landscapes that defy earthly logic and reason.
A physical edition for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will be released in September.
Switch players will have the opportunity to pick up the Skautfold Bloody Pack, a physical edition that contains both Skautfold: Usuper and Skautfold: Shrouded in Sanity in one.
The digital edition of Skautfold: Usurper will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One on June 23rd. The PC edition is available now via Steam.
