Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch ever since its release in April last year. Now, Nintendo's head of software development, Shinya Takahashi, confirmed via a Twitter video that more updates would be introduced on the game soon.
Unfortunately, Takahashi did not reveal specific details on how these updates will take place and if they will introduce massive changes in the game. "There will be further updates for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so please look forward to it," Takahashi said.
As of March 31, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 9.22 million copies, making it the second-most successful Switch game concerning sales. The first place went to Super Mario Odyssey with an impressive 10.41 million copies sold.
It is also worth remembering that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was just an enhanced version of the original Wii U game, Mario Kart 8. The Deluxe edition for the Switch featured all previously released DLC and a few tweaks regarding graphics and overall performance.
