MEDIEVIL Is Making A Comeback Next Year On The PS4

Here's the teaser trailer for Medievil, which premiered at PlayStation Experience 2017.

MediEvil, the hack and slash action-adventure game that was released for the original PlayStation back in 1998 is getting a remastered version that will be coming to the PS4 in 2018. Check out the trailer of the game above.

Last June, Activision released the remastered version of the iconic Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy for the PS4, which started the nostalgia craze that seemed to hit the console. During the first week of December, Capcom announced on a livestream that they will be announcing a new Megaman game, together with re-releases of older titles next year, more details here. Now, Sony is taking the nostalgia trip further by announcing the resurrection of MediEvil just in time for the game's 20th anniversary.

In case you're not familiar with the game, you are the role of Sir Daniel Fortesque, whose mission is to defend Gallowmere from the evil Zarok, a sorcerer who has the power to control the dead. The announcement was made by Shawn Layden, the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, during last night's livestream of the PlayStation Experience, which will officially start on Dec 9.

“We think Sir Daniel needs one more resurrection and this is the time to do it,” Layden said. “Serendipitously, I’d already had this one baking in the oven and then I saw all the pressure and thought this was a great time to talk about it.”

As someone who grew up in the 90s with PlayStation games, I'm very shocked and excited at the announcement. I never got the chance to finish the game back when it was first released since I was still just a young kid, so I'm definitely looking forward to the game next year.

What other PlayStation games would you like to be remastered?
