Don’t you ever wish you could go back in time to the mid-90s when things were tubular and radical, and Pokemon was in its infancy? Well, Mighty Yell and Skybound Games hope to bring that 90s nostalgia out to the forefront for their latest title, The Big Con. Draped in 90s tropes, fashion, and colorful designs, you’ll embark on a journey that is sure to have the elderly freaking out over Y2K.
You’ll play as a teenager named Ali, a 90s cool kid who takes matters into her own hands when her mother’s video store is threatened by some goons. Ditching her band camp for a cross-country road trip, she’ll swindle, lie, cheat, and grift her way in order to palm the money her mom needs to save the store.
As a master trickster, you’re able to stake out your prey and decide on how you’d like to get that cheddar. You can don disguises, eavesdrop, and even try your hand at some pickpocketing in order to snatch that dough. The world is your oyster.
The Big Con also offers a stellar voice cast of actors such as Erika Ishii (Destiny 2, Apex Legends) who plays Ali, and Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead, Batman) who plays a character named Rad Ghost. Troy Baker (The Last of Us Part II, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End) may also make an appearance as he too has auditioned for a role as we can tell from the video above. All that being said, it’s looking to be a pretty bodacious adventure.
The Big Con releases August 31st on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
