Minecraft is more popular than ever. In a Business Insider interview, studio Helen Chang revealed that the game has over 112 million players every month right now, which is absolutely insane. The video game has a lot to offer and the player base is bigger than ever, so it makes sense that Microsoft is taking advantage of the success and adapting Minecraft into a board game. Ravensburger has developed the adventure into a tabletop experience, and Minecraft: Builders & Biomes will release on November 15th of this year.
The board game will be available for purchase through Amazon and the Minecraft store. From the limited details revealed in the trailer, each player will have a mat for reference and use, and the main mechanics of the game revolve around tiles and blocks. That’s fitting for Minecraft and the interactive quality of the tabletop adventure reflects the multiplayer experience of the video game.
Spiders, swords, and blocky avatars are a part of Minecraft: Builders & Biomes, but as always the player will determine how the game is played. In less than two months, the board game will be available worldwide.
