Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind Apex Legends and the Titanfall series, bears a heavy burden with their next project, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Star Wars fans are notoriously sensitive, so it will be interesting to see the community reaction to the narrative of a hunted Jedi who seeks refuge from and retribution against the Empire. A Star Wars game with a lightsaber-wielding Jedi learning to control and to augment the power of the Force. What is not to love?
The young hero Cal—who is of course accompanied by an adorable droid—is searching for something. And the Rebellion is searching for someone. Their paths are intertwined, and it will be up to the player to guide Cal through the trials that await him. From the trailer, it looks like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will feature exciting battles against a wide range of creatures and opponents. The Empire has some daunting special forces, but there are monsters on the planets that Cal visits, and they look tough. Lightsaber duels, monster-slaying, and rebel allies all will be a part of the Fallen Order experience.
Respawn Entertainment has learned a lot about pulsating action and intoxicating combat from the Titanfall games and the Apex Legends battle royale, so the developer support for this project is big. It releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 15th.
