Just like any cozy farming sim, you will have an array of tools to unlock and upgrade in Moonlight Peaks. Although you start with a few essential tools at the start of the game, they’re not as efficient as they could be. If you’re not sure where to start looking, we’ll help you find and upgrade all the tools in Moonlight Peaks.
How to upgrade tools in Moonlight Peaks
You can upgrade the majority of your tools in Moonlight Peaks at the Howling Hammer. Talk to Ridge, the owner of the shop, and tell him you want to buy something. Then flip to the upgrades tab, and you’ll find all the available tool upgrades.
While the Scythe can only be upgraded twice, you can unlock the gold level of all tools through Ridge’s shop. It won’t just cost you money, you’ll also have to pay with Copper, Silver, or Gold Bars, depending on which upgrade you’re getting.
You won’t have access to those ores yet, so wait until you complete the quest A Bridge Too Far that unlocks within the first few days of Spring. This will grant you access to the southern part of Moonlight Peaks, which has the caves you can mine for resources in. At first, you’ll only be able to access Copper Ore, but as the story progresses, you’ll eventually also be able to access Iron Ore and Gold Ore as well.
Aside from the ones you start with, there are three tools you unlock by playing through the main story: the fishing rod, magic wand, and bug net. You’ll receive the Fishing Rod within the first week of Spring after triggering a quest with Noel. You will also get a new wand and the bug net by progressing through main quests, so make sure to play through the story.
Moonlight Peaks is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
