Reaching 1 million sales in the gaming industry is a major milestone for any game and studio. Despite the ever-growing market, tons of amazing games still fail to reach this vaunted milestone. In a recent update to their Platinum games list, Capcom has revealed that 3 more of their titles have joined this milestone! Joining titles include Okami HD, a game which released originally on 2 of the highest-selling platforms of all time the PS2 and Nintendo Wii. despite the high number of systems, neither platform had allowed Okami to break into platinum status before.
The next new title to join the list is the awesome Mega Man 11! Mega Man 11 is only the 6th Mega Man game to reach 1 million sales in the franchises 30+ year history. With the recent success of the Legacy collections and Mega Man 11, it seems that life for the Blue Bomber is beginning anew and I am very excited about it! Please make a proper Mega Man X title for consoles and PC soon please Capcom. The last new addition is the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection which compiles every arcade iteration of the franchise up to Street Fighter III. Street Fighter titles are no stranger to high sales and numerous entries throughout the years have reached 1 million sales.
Capcom has definitely seemed to regain its former momentum that it lost in the tail-end of the Xbox 360/PS3 days and I am glad to see it. Capcom has always been one of my favorite studios throughout my life so seeing their strong sales is good for the future. What do you all think about these newest platinum hits from the studio?
