Developer OSome Studios and publisher Microids unveiled a new gameplay trailer for their game The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone at the San Diego Comic-Con. The game is a sequel to The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf and a new story set around the little blue gnomes everyone knows and loves, and a green stone that can decompose and copy matter.
Handy Smurf has created an invention, the SmurfoMix. But it needs the Green Stone to be finished. The only problem is that Gargamel is holding the prized stone in his evil clutches. To retrieve the stone, the rock explodes in an accident and the fragments blast all over the Cursed Land. The stone unleashes the Stolas, an order of villains that are dead set on enacting terror. Four Smurfs and Gargamel will have to band together to save the Cursed Land from the Stolas.
The four playable Smurfs are Handy, Brainy, Dimwitty, and Storm. The main gameplay focus is exploration, platforming, and intense combat. The SmurfoMix will need to be upgraded by finding resources in the new areas accessible thanks to Gargamel’s teleporters. This new game is the first time the Smurfs and Gargamel have ever joined forces. Can this newfound alliance last till the end credits?
The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone will release digitally on November 2nd for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. A retail release is scheduled for November 14th.
