Ubisoft has officially revealed that Operation Solar Raid, the final season of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 7, will arrive on December 6th. This game-changing season will introduce many long-awaited features including new security measures, crossplay and cross-progression, a new and improved battle pass, a new map, a new Colombian Operator, and the new Ranked 2.0.
This year’s final season shines a light on new Defender Solis and her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor gadget that gathers crucial intel for coordinated strategy. Solis can clearly analyze and identify Attacker devices including drones, breaching devices, and more. Her gloves also allow her to interact with the gadget overlay and trigger a cluster scan. Solis is a medium-speed, medium-health Operator, carrying the P90 or an ITA 12L as a primary weapon and an SMG-11 as a secondary weapon.
As for the Ranked playlist, Solar Raid creates a new experience. Firstly, players’ Rank is no longer decided by their MMR, but by how many Rank Points they win or lose after every Ranked match. Each Rank now has five divisions, and each division requires 100 Rank Points to advance to the next. In addition, a new Rank, Emerald, has been added between Platinum and Diamond. Secondly, as MMR has been separated from players’ Rank, it will be known as a new value: skill. Skill is a hidden value for all playlists and will carry over from season to season. There will be no more squad MMR restriction, and players can squad up with any of their friends. A new algorithm will adapt matchmaking despite varying skill levels among squad mates. Lastly, Ranked’s reward system has been revamped: players will get one reward for every Rank division achieved throughout the season, and rewards will be granted at the end of each season.
Additionally, a NieR collaboration with Square Enix featuring skins inspired by NieR:Automata and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... which are now available in the in-game store.
Rainbow Six Siege players will officially have all of the stops pulled and full access to the game given out with this new season. With crossplay, cross-progression, less restricting rank systems, a new map, and a new operator, there is a lot to check out in the game now! Not to mention the new battle pass and reputation standing system that is worth checking out. It is definitely the best time to be a Siege player!
