There are many stories to be told in a galaxy far, far away, and Respawn Entertainment is in charge of at least three more! From the studio that developed Apex Legends, Titanfall, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes the reveal that they are working on a trio of new Star Wars games, one of which is the Fallen Order sequel. Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games have announced the development of these three new games, as well as the teams in charge of bringing these stories to life.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a smash hit action-adventure game from 2019, following a former Jedi Padawan as he tries to save the future of the galaxy. After the critical success and high praise of the original game, it’s no surprise Respawn Entertainment is following up with a second foray into the story of Cal Kestis. Game Director Stig Asmussen and his team at Respawn have already been hard at work on this project, and we can expect more on it as the year continues.
The development of an all-new Star Wars first-person shooter is helmed by Peter Hirschmann, Game Director at Respawn and a veteran of creating Star Wars stories. He was previously the VP of development at LucasArts and was an executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront games.
Finally, the third title is being developed as a Star Wars real-time strategy through a production collaboration with Bit Reactor, a new games studio founded by former Firaxis Games developers and creatives. This project will be helmed by games industry veteran Greg Foerstch, with Bit Reactor developing and Respawn Entertainment producing.
“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn,” said Douglas Reilly, VP, Lucasfilm Games. “They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”
While no other news about the specifics of each of these games has been announced, we are sure to hear more about each of these titles further along this year. Which one of these has you most interested in? Let us know in the comments down below
