To mark the final update before its full release from Early Access, publisher Hyperstrange has released a new trailer for Paranoid Interactive’s Norse-themed RTS title Frozenheim.
Frozenheim, which entered Early Access last year, has entered its final phase of development before release with a 0.9 update that features a new story campaign, matchmaking, and siege engines. The new story follows Thorstein, leader of the Bear Clan. and adds four extra missions to keep players busy while they wait for 1.0. The full release promises a fourth story campaign that concludes the game’s narrative, along with numerous tweaks and further visual and gameplay polish.
Frozenheim combines a combat RTS with a city-builder that challenges the player with building a dark age, Nordic community from the ground up. This means hunting, foraging, farming, keeping the people safe from the extremes of the climate, and growing a village. It may also mean grabbing the Dane axes, throwing a crew into a dragon boat, and taking part in a spot of raiding. Life is tough in the frozen north.
The melee is not limited to solo gaming either: multiplayer features allow players to either form alliances and work for the good of both parties or burn and pillage someone else’s budding Viking town.
The game is currently available to buy at a reduced, pre-release price as part of Steam Early Access. Frozenheim's full version will be available on the 16th of June for PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store.
