The sequel to the 2016 co-op multiplayer cooking game Overcooked, has just been announced by Nintendo a few days ago. Overcooked 2 will still feature everything we love about the original game, but will include an online multiplayer mode.
In Overcooked 2, teams of up to four players will be able to band together in local wireless and online multiplayer. Several new gameplay mechanics, new characters, and new locations will be available in the sequel. Moreover, developer Ghost Town and publisher Team17 promised tons of new recipes for players to bake and burn. Lastly, players will now be able to throw ingredients at each other as stages will change dramatically instantly.
Overcooked 2 is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch on August 7. The announcement did not specify whether the game will remain a Nintendo exclusive. However, just as its predecessor, it is expected that Overcooked 2 will be released on multiple platforms. Check out the gameplay trailer below.
